Today I went to the orthodontist to get my first adjustment/tightening, and it didn't hurt as much as I thought. My dentist said that my teeth are going to plan and he is very happy with the progress.
I have at the moment a gap between my two front teeth that I have never had before and the dentist said its because my gum didn't develop properly because of the over lap of the teeth.
This one was taken tonight
This one was taken 4 weeks ago, just to compare the change in the front.
And you can also see that I have a spring on the bottom, this is use to turn the tooth behind the spring so it sits flush with the others (I think) this is what the dentist said.
I have to go back in 4 weeks for the next adjustment but there will be a lot of change between then and I will still be taking a lot of photos.

I have had my surgery and I have got my braces on and I haven't posted anything, though I have been taking photos so I will make this post a catch up and update to where I am at now.

My next appointment with the Orthodontist is at the end of January so there is not a lot of change that is going to happen until then. I am still taking weekly shots of my teeth but not much is happening so I wont bore you with a lot of those photos.
Until next time

I was checked in and ready to go yesterday for the extractions I am getting for my braces and they cancelled the operation cause of one little thing, a temperature of 38.4! Now I do not know why I have one that high because except for some headaches I have no cold/flu symptoms like sore throat or swollen glands. So after many tears I headed myself off to the doctor to tell me I may... have a virus of some sort.
The temperatures started to happen on Monday and with alot of bed rest and panadol I thought I would pass it before the op came. Couldn't even lie my way through it as I was getting the sweats as the anesthetist was talking to me, sigh. So they have tentatively booked my in for Tuesday (which also happens to be my birthday) to see if my temperature drops by then. So far I have woken up today with my temperature back at 38.2!!! Man I have some battles going inside my body. A couple more panadol and it was brought down to 37.5. I have 3 more days to try and get through this.
I thought I would take this time I have to show you which teeth I will be getting taken out.
( Lots of photos of my teeth )
So these are all the teeth I am hopefully going to get extracted on Tuesday afternoon.
Then a week later I will get my braces on **cross fingers**.

Please do not fall over, yes I am posting and yes it is really me.
I have decided to keep a journal of my journey of getting braces. Now I know that I start off really good and post regularly and then start to fall off and then not at all, but I am very excited also about seeing the transformation of how the braces are going to change my look. So I will be posting weekly with photos and what is happening with the treatment and what will be coming up next.
I am getting my braces done through the University of Orthordonistry at Spring Hill. My Orthodontist is Devon and he has set out a dental plan which is very exciting which includes teeth extractions and jaw surgery.
The process is going to take around three years to complete and will be starting in about two and a half weeks when I will be getting 5 teeth removed under general anesthetic, which includes an extra tooth that I should not have.
With my next post I will put up some before shots that really highlight the overbite I have, and some shots that I am hope will be the results after the braces.
It is going to be a long and painfully journey which I hope you will come along and share with me.

Well I am finally here! The big 40 and I have survived the day without falling apart. It really was not that bad.
What did I do for my 40th? I had a big Georgian picnic in the theme of strawberries.
I had it in the city botanical gardens because if you know me I needed to be seen and I was! I couldn't let the opportunity go with the effort that I put in with the outfit. I felt like a duchess. (Mind you I watch the dvd about 3 times last week as well as Marie Antoinette).
Not everyone got dressed up but for those who did I thank you for the effort you put in to make the day a special event.
The weather ended up turning out just perfect with the rain clearing that morning.
The only hick up was with the spot I chose to have the picnic. We got there at 11am and there were a couple of unfortunate down and out "men" who decided to make it their drinking place. Fortunately they moved on about an hour later after they had finished the drinks and I finally got my perfect spot. So we danced and nibbled on strawberry delights and took lots of photos (As we do).
And now my dress.......

Here is a photo with the costumed people

If you want to look at any more photos you can go to my picasa photos at picasaweb.google.com/kerryannphotos
I one other oopsy that happened is that my hat was actually put on backwards but you could not really notice.
It was a great day!

Well, were do I start? I am having a georgian picnic for my 40th which is in November. And with that I am making a robe a la francaise which is also called a sack dress. I would like to replicate the dress from marie Antoinette or very similar but with a different print, like the blue one in the back ground
Now, I have started with the corset which is all finished. Every thing was going smoothly until I tried it on. It is too big, the back meets together and I feel that it is not quite tight enough and would have liked to have laced in a little more. I did a mock up as well. So I was bummed at that. Have to do some unpicking and readjusting with that which I will do later after I have finished the panniers and petticoats.
So I started the panniers. I was using the butterick pattern and was told that the panniers are really big, so I cut the width of them and then I was going to wing it too see how they would go. (I know that is a naughty thing). I was using japara cotton and didn't bother to preshrink it as I was not going to wash these in hot water. Anyhow as I was constructing the boning channels the material got dirty so i wash the cloth in cold water. DID YOU KNOW THAT JAPARA SHRINKS IN COLD WATER! AARRRGGGHHH!!!!!!. So after preshrinking the rest of the cotton I started again and with hitting a few walls and having my unpicker as my friend I can now say that I am 99% finished the panniers with just the finishing on the waistband. (BTW the winging worked!)
So tomorrow I will wake up and see if my nightmare has gone away and will have a good run with my petticoats.
I have six weeks until my picnic and I hope it will be smooth sailing.
I will endeavor to post the progress of my efforts in making this costume. I will take some photos of my panniers tomorrow and post them up. I am quite proud of them considering the changes I made to them.

Is sad that her sister is ignoring her :(
I am procrastinating about going and cleaning my sewing room so I can start the new projects up for this year.
I have to make for my dance group some medieval costumes as we are going to dance at the Abbey Medieval Tournament this year in July. Sheree and I have volunteered to do that. I am making myself a new one with some new linen/cotton material I picked up really cheap at eastcoast last year when they had a sale on.
I also have to make a new 1940s out fit for a wedding I will be attending in July as well.
I also have got some commission work to do as well.
So having said all that: I MUST GET INTO MY SEWING ROOM AND CLEAN IT!

Though I am not as good as writing up as my other Janites, I thought I would just post a link to my photos that I have put on my picasa web. I had an absolutely awesome time and we (Melissa, Donna, Georgia and I), all looked stunning everyday.

The biggest highlight of the trip for me was the ball. Although I didn't do much dancing I retired to the card room with Donna and Mel and proceeded to play Whist for most of the night. Donna and I won the first round, then Mel partnered me and we won our round too.
I loved the way my hair turned out, thank you to Mel and Donna. I got myself a fringe before we left. I put little sponge rollers in the front and then hot rolled the back with large hot rollers. I also loved the way my ballgown looked as well. I didn't get a back shot of it and hoping that Donna or Mel got one (hint, hint).
The Sunday promenade and picnic was another highlight as well. Donna and Mel looked absolutely fantastic in there Georgian outfits. I love my spencer and have great back shots and I got lots of compliments on the look and fit of it.
I am going to try and post more often and endeavour to keep it up.

Went to the Kaleidoscope's Christmas Dance last night and danced my feet of as I do! Not many people went in costume as it was reeeeaaallllyyyyy hot. There were 2 other people other than myself,
poisoned_kitty and her parents that dressed in costume. I borrowed
lahoo88's (Thankyou Sis!) open robe to go over my muslin dress to spice it up a bit.
The night before I went to
poisoned_kitty house and she ragged the back of my hair (Thankyou!). Then I came home and proceeded to curl the front of my hair with my foam rollers. I loved the way my hair turned out (Quite a shock for me). Though by the end of the night I had to pin a couple of curls up for they had fallen out due to the heat, sweat and all the bouncing around I did during the night.
Now for some photos
The open robe didn't quite meet up so I put a cameo to fill the gap in the middle and the effect was quite nice.

poisoned_kitty in her beautiful purple and lace dress. She looked stunning.
Debbie and Norm in their finery. Debbie was so proud of her curls.
A picture of the back of my hair.
